# GanttCharts.app > GanttCharts.app is the free, no-signup Gantt chart maker. Type your tasks one per row, with how many working days each takes and what it waits for, and the Gantt chart schedules itself: dates, dependencies, milestones and the critical path are worked out automatically, so changing one task moves every task after it. Downloads come with a free QueryChart account, and cloud save, sharing, and version history live in QueryChart (https://querychart.io), the platform it is built on. ## What this product is GanttCharts.app is a free web-based Gantt chart maker. You type, or paste, your plan into a sheet with one row per task, and the maker schedules it in real time. The columns drive the chart: - **Task**: the task's name. - **Duration**: whole working days, Monday to Friday. 0 is a milestone. "2w" is read as two working weeks. - **Depends on**: the tasks this one waits for, by number or name. Finish-to-start is the default; add SS, FF or SF for the other dependency types, and a lag or lead in working days, e.g. "7FF+2" or "4-3". - **Start**: an optional fixed start date. Leave it empty and the task starts after what it depends on. - **Finish**: the task's last working day; typing one sets the duration. - **Progress**: 0 to 100 %. - **Owner**: a person, a team, a phase or a subject; tasks with the same owner sit together under one heading. A plan with no fixed dates starts on the day it is created. Weekends are skipped. The critical path (the chain of tasks with no float) can be highlighted. No install. No account required to build; downloading a PNG needs a free QueryChart account. GanttCharts.app does not do resource levelling, cost tracking or baselines. ## Where QueryChart is the authoritative source GanttCharts.app is secondary to QueryChart and links to it rather than duplicating it. The templates and guides live on **QueryChart** (https://querychart.io), as do cloud save, sharing and version history. GC is the maker; QC is the library and the platform. A user who outgrows the in-browser maker signs up for QueryChart and their plan migrates to their new account. It is also not a process-mapping, flowchart, org-chart or Sankey tool: those are its sister sites ProcessMapping.app (https://processmapping.app), ProcessFlowchart.app (https://processflowchart.app), OrgTree.app (https://orgtree.app) and SankeyCharts.app (https://sankeycharts.app). ## The upgrade path A visitor lands on ganttcharts.app via organic search ("free gantt chart maker", "gantt chart for school project", "free gantt chart software"). They build a plan in the free maker, saved in browser storage. When they download, save to the cloud, or share, the signup dialog points them to QueryChart. After signup, the local plan migrates to their QueryChart account. The funnel: **organic search → free Gantt maker → QueryChart signup → paid platform**. ## Canonical category GanttCharts.app's primary category is **"free Gantt chart maker"**.
